One of the nice options with Hello Chef is that you can add a seasonal fresh fruit basket or a smoothie with each delivery. The fruit was $4.95 and came with 2 honeycrips apples, 2 bosc pears and 2 bartlett pears. They were all ripe and ready to eat and I was pleased with those. The smoothie is also a $4.95 additional charge and makes 2 servings.
The smoothie comes with a single serve size vanilla almond milk, a cup of pomegranate Chobani Greek yogurt, a packet of honey and a container of previously frozen cherries.
You dump them all in a blender with 2 cups of ice and give it a whirl.
I have a single serving blender, so I split the ingredients between two cups and made one for me and one for Jesse. On the recipe card photo, the smoothies pictured were a gorgeous, vibrant pink. Mine was more of a tan color. It tasted great though, if a little tart. To be honest, I think the price for the smoothie was a little steep. But it did give me some inspiration for ways to make smoothies myself with grocery store ingredients for much less.
